Our X-ray facilities allow us to quickly obtain information about internal problems when needed. We have a hospital-grade X-ray machine and an automatic film processor for rapid and accurate results.
Many people tend to see X-ray as a way of looking at bones and joints but it is also used extensively to assess soft tissues such as lungs, the heart or abdominal organs.
Ultrasound
Mont Albert Veterinary Surgery now has a high quality Honda ultrasound unit allowing detailed examinations of soft tissues. Uses include pregnancy diagnosis, abdominal organ examination and evaluation of heart problems (echocardiography). Many patients can be examined without sedation although occasionally they need something if they are a bit anxious. We can upload images from our ultrasound machine into patient files for later viewing (including viewing by owners) and as a record of the examination.
